So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they’re busy doing things they think are important. This is because they’re chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning. –  Mitch Albom

I have always been a dreamer, my folks have always told me you have the dreamers syndrome. But what is a cliché for them meant the world to me. I understand and feel what passion can mean to you, and do to you!

When I was a kid, I had this immense love for gardening and plants. I use to watch my mother curiously, while she trimmed and watered the plants. We, humans, are no different than plants. The care and the effort that goes into a proper upbringing of a human, is also huge. The benefits of these efforts will reap great outputs later.

A man with great nurturing, proper support, aligned with his passion and skill-set can bring out good for everybody. He will blossom to his full capacity and will thrive to achieve anything that is of his interest.

Gennady Korotkevich, a 20 year old sport programmer has numerous achievements to his name. Few of his top achievements include “Facebook Hacker Club” winner (2014 & 2015), “Topcoder Open” winner (2014) and “Google Code Jam” winner (2014). The reasons behind such great achievements;   support from his parents, they always guided, nurtured and supported him through thick and thin. Whether it was to support him to pursue his interests or gifting him a programming game,  or a book for his inquisitiveness, his parents have done everything possible to help him pursue his interest. It is indeed their constant hand-holding and guidance, which made him follow his interest and be this great.

Another similar personality is Balamurali Ambati. He solved complicated calculus questions at the age of 4, wrote a book on “AIDS” at the age of 11 and entered medical school at the age of 14 and at the age of 17, he completed his MD. He even won the prestigious Troutman-Véronneau Prize” from the “Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology” in 2013. He also won the 4th “IRDS Awards for Medicine”. You have passion for something, you go get it. You follow it with all your heart. There CANNOT be two ways about that. He liked solving calculus and his love and curiosity for “Ophthalmology” was immense. His father and his elder brother gave him calculus riddles to solve and he would do it all with much ease. Even his father went on and requested the school administrators to let Balamurali learn at his own speed, which eventually happened.

But what if in spite of having that inborn talent and interest in their respective fields, Gennady Korotkevich & Balamurali Ambati didn’t get their approval? What if they discouraged them to pursue their interests and instead made them follow the conventional path? What if they killed their Idea to be a “sport programmer” or “a recognizable name in Ophthalmological industry”?

They set forth examples of genius in making! With their ideas being killed, we would have missed an opportunity to know how limitless can be our capabilities.
